The Best Cafes in Seminyak

It’s no wonder tourists flock to this buzzing, upmarket neighbourhood as it seems like everywhere you look there are cute, hip cafes offering delicious brunches. Whether you’re visiting Seminyak for a short stay or planning to stay a while, you’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to quality dining options. Here are my favourites!

Fresh Granola Bowl at Go Fresh

Go Fresh

Go Fresh is a little calm oasis from the bustling main street below. We sat upstairs among the beautiful greenery and overlooked the busy Seminyak traffic while enjoying our smoothie bowls. Everything on the menu here is pretty healthy and they have all the different plant based milk options that you could want.

The best part is that everything is well priced and slightly more affordable than other cafes in Seminyak. We had a smoothie bowl, club sandwich and two iced coffees for approx $15 AUD - the iced coffees were free with the breakfast meals. I also really rate their frozen smoothie bowls! I had one later in the afternoon when the heat was getting the best of me and it was just so icy cold and refreshing.

Their menu is pretty extensive so from bagels, wraps, salads, cakes to ice cream, there’s so much more I want to try here. Given the good prices and deals, this was definitely the cafe that I frequented the most for a healthy breakfast/lunch.

Kynd Community

Welcome to the most Instagrammable cafe in Seminyak .This place gives me all the tropical paradise vibes with it’s cute pink decor, palm trees and neon lights. Kynd started as a small cafe but the space has expanded to include an ice cream and pizza parlour too. And everything at Kynd is vegan!

I’ve tried out their brunch and ice cream here and will come back next time for the pizza. I have to say, the Banana Smoothie Bowl is one of my favourite smoothie bowls I’ve had in Seminyak. I don’t usually go for anything banana but this bowl had lots of peanut butter (my weakness). It was just the perfect consistency, so creamy and with the right amount of sweetness. They even put a couple of protein balls in there too. You also can’t go wrong with the Paradise Pancakes, what’s not to love about super fluffy pancakes served with coconut ice cream, berry compote, candied hazelnuts + strawberry cream.

Just note that Kynd isn’t the cheapest cafe, their drink prices matched that of Australia. But it’s totally worth it for the delicious plant based meals and relaxed atmosphere.

Avocado toast at Sisterfields Cafe, Seminyak

Smashed Avocado at Sisterfields Cafe

Sisterfields Cafe

Sisterfields has quickly become a go to dining option for those after an Australian style brunch. The owner is an Australian expat and has created a cafe space that is not only a popular choice for Australian holiday makers, but also expats living abroad and Indonesian locals.

From what I’ve tried, the food quality here really matches the brunch standard in Melbourne. It felt like a piece of home for me here in Seminyak! My Smashed Avocado had all the right things going for it in terms of taste, texture and presentation. The spiced cashew crumble and mixed herbs made it stand out from your average smashed avo.

If you’re in the mood for a burger, the Dirty Burger is the way to go. The beef patty is huge (160g) and the house sauce they use in it is super tasty. The food comes out very quickly and it’s a large, spacious cafe making it perfect for group gatherings.

They’re located in the heart of Seminyak in the village so definitely make sure to check them out for a touch of the Australian brunch scene here in Bali.

Smoothie bowl at Nalu Bowls, Seminyak

‘J-Bay’ Smoothie Bowl at Nalu Bowls

Nalu Bowls

Multiple people have said that I must try Nalu Bowls when in Seminyak and they weren’t wrong! These would have to be my favourite smoothie bowls that I’ve ever had so I’m thankful I was told about this gem of smoothie bar.

For all you peanut butter lovers, my number one pick is the ‘J-Bay’. It comes with peanut butter, banana, soy milk, granola, honey + almonds and is just the perfect, creamy consistency served nice and cold. The ‘Mavericks’ is another best seller and it’s just so fruity and refreshing. These bowls are the best to help cool down from the Bali heat!

There’s not many seats by the smoothie bar but we were there early enough in the morning and got to watch the owner making our bowls. I wasn’t staying within walking distance to Nalu Bowls but ended up ordering them again off Gojek a few times as I enjoyed them so much. Also, I found the bowls here to be a bigger portion size than other bowls in the area - they left me full for hours :)
