Carb-Load at Melbourne’s Best New Italian Restaurant
In Melbourne, Italians have had a large influence and contribution to the city’s culture therefore there are hundreds of amazing Italian restaurants here to choose from. However, one that deserves a blog post for it’s own is the delightful La Vineria in Fitzroy.
Walking in, we were greeted with big smiles and warm hospitality. The owner is lovely and very passionate about providing an authentic Italian dining experience. They have an incredible selection of wine and even a small cellar whereby many have been imported straight from Italy.
I have to say, the food was nothing short of amazing. I always love Italian food (who doesn’t?), but our meal here was really something special. We started with the Arancino El Ragu which was one of the tastiest arancini that I’ve ever tried. I also highly recommend the San Nicola Focacce and the Ravioli Pesto & Pomodorini.
We were going to end the meal there as we were so full of carbs, but the owner insisted that we try some desserts - how could we say no! I’m so glad we did as the desserts here ended up being our favourite part of the meal. The Baba Napoletano was the most delicious dessert, it’s basically a sponge cake soaked in a sticky, boozy syrup. And I love anything to do with coffee so the Crema Al Caffe was a winner for me too.
I haven’t stopped talking about La Vineria and definitely recommend checking them out next time you’re craving a delicious meal that reflects Italian culture perfectly.
