Affordable South East Asian Brunch in Auckland!

It’s not very often that I head over the shore for brunch but if there’s one cafe I’d drive to over and over again it’s Duck Duck Goose in Rosedale. This gem of a cafe specialises in South East Asian dishes where you’’ll find the tastiest (and best value) banh mi’s, house made curries, bao burgers and Vietnamese salads.

Pork Belly Banh Mi

For $13.50 you can get a full size authentic Vietnamese banh mi which is huge and will guarantee to leave you full for hours. Or for those with a smaller appetite a half size for $7 would probably be enough. They do offer daily $11.50 lunch specials as well.

The stand out dish for me personally was the Vege & Tofu Curry. It was packed full of flavour and loaded with eggplant and lots of pieces of tofu. Like every dish we tried, it was a generous serving size.

If you’re a coffee lover, you must try their Vietnamese Coffee, it took me right back to the streets of Ho Chi Minh. They also sell housemade chili oil which is perfectly balanced with a good kick to it, it’s obvious the team here really know their flavours.

The owner and team are so friendly and even know the regulars by name, it’s clear they are very passionate about what they do.

Whether you’re after a quick lunch on the go or a brunch date with friends, Duck Duck Goose has you covered!

Find them at 6/56 Apollo Drive, Rosedale, Auckland 0632
