Chef David: The Sichuan restaurant that looks like a night club

I only have one word to describe what dining here at Chef David was like - unforgettable. We walked up the stairs and were greeted with neon flashing lights and clubbing music (don’t worry, it’s not too loud). Safe to say it definitely did remind me of a night club in Asia.

They also have arcade games and fresh fish on display. I’ve now been here twice so am lucky enough to have tried a fair few of their dishes although there is still so much more I want to try.

We had the Cloudy Grapefruit cocktail and Long Island Iced Tea to start. I particularly loved the grapefruit one as I love anything a bit sour. Also note that they do make their drinks here quite strong!

The real star of the show was their Signature Grilled Fish. We had the sour and spicy broth and it was amazing, I just love the Sichuan pepper flavour. You can choose how spicy you’d like it. We asked for medium and it had just the right amount of kick to it.

I had the Fried Sticky Rice Donuts in between spoonfuls of the fish to break up the heat with a subtle sweetness. They were dangerously good. It took a lot of self control to stop eating these delights.

And I can’t write this post without mentioning their amazing Sashimi Platter. It is presented beautifully with such theatre (hello liquid nitrogen) and it’s definitely enough to serve 2 or 3 people. Chef David is also well known for their Peking Duck so that will first on my list to order on my next visit.
