Authentic Thai Food in Kingsland

Thai food is always a popular choice of cuisine when it comes to dining out here in Auckland and one place that really does bring us the real taste of Thailand is At Bangkok in Kingsland.

‘The Sizzling Cashew Nuts’

Conveniently located on New North Road, At Bangkok is a cosy restaurant with colourful decor and given they do BYO, it’s quite the vibe. Even early on a Thursday evening it was quite busy so I’d suggest making a booking beforehand. I had a bit of a feast here the other night so have lots of dishes to recommend.

First up - the Tom Yum Soup. The hot and sour flavours were perfectly balanced and I’ve never enjoyed Tom Yum as much as I did here. If you’re a seafood lover, it’s worth paying an extra $5 for the prawns, they give you heaps and they’re so big and juicy!

Another stand out dish for me was the Sizzling Cashew Nuts. The beef was very flavourful without being too oily and they were generous with the cashew nuts which of course is a must.

I also can’t stop thinking about their Zap Fried Chicken which is really something special. The chicken was juicy on the inside, crunchy on the outside and was served with fresh Thai herbs. This place is amazing, they just get everything right!
